Cecil County Fair Recap
The 2019 Cecil County Fair is over. We’ll have to wait until next year to indulge in nine days of fun, livestock, competition, music, rides, derbys, entertainers, and less-than-healthy food. Attendance seemed way up from last year. More than likely because we did not have to endure 14 inches of rain that fell in 2018. However, we did have a heatwave the first 3 days. The rest of the week was hot but each evening had good weather.
We enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people and making new friends.
Honestly, meeting fair-goers is the reason why Hillside continues its tradition of having our booth and sponsoring the fair. We especially enjoy meeting the children (of all ages) and handing out stuffed Emmy Lou puppies to them. Their smiles are priceless. We even had a few “older” Super Secret Contest winners.
Thursday night turned out to be a glorious day paired with a great crowd. Maybe because Hillside sponsored the “School Bus Heat” Demolition Derby which turned out to be SMASHING HIT.
Cecil County Fair winners of free heating oil are:
100 gallons:
- Burl Wheatley from Elkton, MD
FREE Fill-Up:
- Dennis & Donna Daniels from Wilmington, DE
She shoots and scores! 🎉 Congratulations to Cecil County Fair Candy Winner, Carly England, aged 9!

Are you in any of them? If not, make sure you say hello next year and you can be on our wall of fame.
This email, info and especially the great pix of all the smiles, made my day. I am very proud to have been a part of Hillside and keeping the fair part of our summer fun. Thanks, Jimmy. Will see you soon. Luv U.
