Test Run Your Air Conditioner
It is only April and nobody wants to turn on their air conditioner yet. However, right now is the perfect time to give your unit a “test run”. The temperature will be warm enough this coming weekend. The hottest weather will be here before we know it. Hillside suggests giving your air conditioning unit a few hours of run time this weekend. It will be an excellent time to analyze your A/C’s performance and check if anything seems wrong with it.
Try your air conditioner now, avoid disappointment later!
How to Test Run Your A/C
Do these 9 things before test running your A/C.
Step 1. Turn on your air conditioning system and set the thermostat well below the temperature of your home, which will keep your system running so you can perform the test.
Step 2. Check your airflow. After a few minutes, you should feel cool air coming out of the registers. Check again a few hours later. If no air is coming out, or if the air coming out does not feel cool, something may be wrong.
Step 3. Stop the test. Immediately turn the system off at the thermostat. Leaving the system turned on when it’s not running properly can do a lot of damage.
While homeowners are encouraged to periodically confirm their air conditioner is operating, proper testing when there is an issue should be performed by a knowledgeable, licensed HVAC professional.
Scheduling A/C Repairs
Early spring is the best time to schedule any A/C system repairs. It becomes more difficult to arrange a repair call when the heatwave arrives and people are scrambling to find an A/C repair company. Call Hillside HVAC for your A/C repairs. We can diagnose and fix the problem.
A/C Tune-Ups
If you don’t know already, regular A/C maintenance is very important. For a small investment to schedule a professional A/C tune-up, your return can be huge.
Avoid unexpected A/C breakdowns! Tune-ups are important for keeping and improving efficiency, operating safely, increasing the overall lifespan of the unit, and reducing your operating expenses. A tuned-up system is more likely to perform optimally, most efficiently, and avoid untimely breakdowns.
Ideally, your air conditioning system should be inspected at least once a year.
